Grayson Heights houses a mix of students - students with families, couples and groups of postgraduates in shared 5 bedroom flats.
Allocations for family accommodation are reserved for students registered at the University of Leeds. Click here to check if you are eligible.
As shown in the building plan, the accommodation comprises 24 two-bedroom flats for student families or couples, and 22 shared flats for postgraduate students.
Grayson Heights opened its doors to tenants for the first time in 2007. A single building extending over 12 floors, it commands stunning views over the Kirkstall Valley. Offering modern, purpose-built accommodation, the building was renovated especially for student families and couples, and for postgraduate students sharing.
Grayson Heights has an on-site reception which is open daily and run by Residents Assistants.

Tenancies at Grayson Heights normally begin on the 1st August each year (or from arrival to 31st July the following year). Current residents are offered the chance of renewing, so long as their studies are ongoing.
All flats are let fully furnished. As shown in the floorplan below, each family flat has two bedrooms (one double and one single), a living room, kitchen, bathroom and separate WC.
The flats offer a high standard of amenities, including energy-efficient heating systems, double glazed windows, well-designed kitchens and well laid out bathrooms.
Television aerial sockets are provided in the living room. There is an integral digital satellite reception system point in each flat. A WI-FI service is included in the rent. All flats are equipped with hard-wired smoke and heat detection systems.
The building is extensively covered by CCTV. Cameras are located on each lobby, inside each lift, in the ground floor communal area and all around the external areas. The public display monitor is located on the ground floor in the foyer area by reception.
Entry to Grayson Heights is through a reception area with seating and vending machines, a reception desk, and two lifts for tenants to use. Access to the building is controlled by swipe fobs for tenants and by an intercom entry system for visitors.
The kitchens have an electric cooker, a large fridge/freezer and a washer/drier together with a table and chairs.
Bedrooms are fitted with a double or single bed, ample clothes storage and bedside tables. There is also a desk and chair for study.
There is a dining table with chairs in the kitchen, and in the lounge there are two sofas and coffee tables.
Unipol provide a vacuum cleaner, ironing board, mop and bucket, broom and dustpan and brush for tenants. Irons and small kitchen appliances i.e. a kettle are not provided.

The accommodation is allocated to families and couples by the University of Leeds Accommodation Office.

As Grayson Heights is a development that the University of Leeds allocate student couples and families into, you will need to apply for the waiting list in order to be offered a property.

Leeds City Council provides information about the schools within its authority at its Find a School web pages. These pages include each school's admission policy, cut-off distance maps (for oversubscribed schools), information on how to apply for a place, and recent school inspection reports produced by Ofsted, the government-established office for standards in education, children's services and skills. Please note that you are not guaranteed a place at the school nearest to where you live.

Local Leisure and Recreation
Kirkstall Abbey is nearby with its extensive riverside park.The park has playground apparatus for younger children. Leeds City Council maintains a large number of public play areas for children and young people, which includes playgrounds, ball parks, skateboard parks and teen zones.
The nearest public library, which as a Leeds resident, you can join and borrow books from free of charge, is Headingley Library.
Leeds City Council runs a number of leisure centres across the city for general public use, including Kirkstall Leisure centre. The council also manages a number of artistic and cultural venues and offers a year-round programme of events. Some facilities and events run by the council are free and some are available for a fee. The University of Leeds offers a range of sports opportunities, including all manner of recreational activities, The Edge, the University's own fully equipped gym available to paying members, and school holiday sports camps.
