Mental Health First Aid Refresher (Online)

Refresh your Mental Health First Aider skills by attending this online course with Unipol Training.

This Training is for delegates who have already completed the full MHFA training. The refresher must be done within 6 months of the 3 year renewal date to continue to be qualified.

Learning takes place through a mix of presentations, group discussions, and workshop activities. 

Participants must have a working camera and microphone to complete this course and get the most out of the learning experience.

Speakers

Toria Thomas - Tenancy Support and Wellbeing Coordinator, Unipol Student Homes

Toria is the Tenancy Support and Wellbeing Coordinator in Unipol. Having previously trained as a Religious Education secondary school teacher, so is well used to broaching difficult topics and answering sensitive questions. Since beginning in Unipol in May 2022, Toria has assisted student tenants with numerous issues, ranging from flat fallouts and messy kitchens, to mental health crises. Toria is passionate about LGBTQ+ rights, animal welfare and averting climate disaster.

Beth Murphy - Tenancy Support and Wellbeing Coordinator, Unipol Student Homes

Beth has worked in a number of roles in the Criminal Justice System and has a wide-range of experience in dealing with challenging behaviours and scenarios, alongside providing support to vulnerable and marginalised individuals. Joining Unipol in April 2023, Beth supports students to ensure their time residing with Unipol is as pleasant as possible, this involves dealing with a huge range of issues, such as tenant fallouts, anti-social behaviour and concerns around drug use; though this list is far from exhaustive! Beth is passionate about promoting health and wellbeing and social change.

With Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England training you will be accessing the very best evidence-based Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course available. Our training is grounded in research and developed with clinical practitioners. It is proven to increase MHFAiders® confidence in supporting people with mental health issues.

This MHFA Refresher course will keep your MHFAiders motivated, empowered, and confident to carry out their roles, and give you the peace of mind that they can perform their duties effectively.     

The four-hour online Refresher course will support your Mental Health First Aiders by:  

  • Renewing their skills  
  • Updating their knowledge of mental health support  
  • Giving them the chance to practice applying the Mental Health First Aid action plan

MHFA provide support for your Mental Health First Aiders – well beyond initial certification – giving you the peace of mind that they can perform their duties effectively and with confidence.

Once your Mental Health First Aiders have completed their MHFA Refresher course, they will be certified for three years and will be invited to become or stay a member of our Association of Mental Health First Aiders – making sure they have everything they need to feel confident when supporting others. ​
