Unipol has received an award at Bradford College's White Ribbon Awards Dinner on Friday 25th November. The award is in recognition of Unipol's commitment to safeguarding individuals from domestic abuse and for supporting the College to raise awareness of these issues amongst the College community.
Doris Birdsall Hall is a 59-bedspace hall of residence next to Trinity Green Campus, which has an emergency room available on request for the Safeguarding team. The development is staffed by two residential student staff and managed by Joanne MacNaughton who are on call to ensure that emergency accommodation can be offered when needed.
Frances Ogueri, one of the on-call student Residents' Assistants and Jakub Pietruszewski received the award from Brian Mitchell, Course Tutor of Social Care & Community Practice, Bradford College and Ikram Butt, Sports Ambassador, White Ribbon Campaign.
The Awards Dinner gave the opportunity to network with passionate, dedicated and hardworking individuals who are committed to stand up to violence against women.
The team at Unipol Hall were humbled to have received recognition for their efforts in providing emergency accommodation.
