Not found a group to live with?
Don’t worry, there are many other students in the same situation for a variety of reasons. Although our ‘widen your circle’ events have now finished, there are a few other options for students searching alone.
Larger properties can be a great choice for individual house hunters. Not only are the properties cheaper in rent and energy, but they are also a great way to meet new people.
If you are interested in a house share, take a look at the Unipol website and select the filter ‘rooms in a shared property/large development’ under the ‘whole property required?’ section. The first set of results will be for large developments. These properties are usually rooms in shared flats or studios. If you are specifically looking for a house, scroll a little further.
If you are particular about who you would like to live with, just check in with the landlord first and they should be able to give you some details about your potential flat mates. If you are interested in a property, be sure to ask what type of contract it is (joint or individual). You can find out more about contract signing here.
There are many options available on the Unipol website for students who would prefer to live on their own. Students can search through 1 bedroom houses, flats, studios and self-contained apartments. Prices vary but are usually more expensive than house shares. These types of properties are also more commonly located in the city centre or university area.
You can also find rooms in a shared house or flat mates on the Unipol noticeboard. Start a new thread or search current threads here.
