I was a lecturer at the University of Nottingham for  35 years. During the past 15 years or so I have rented rooms in the Beeston area to postgraduate students. I aim to keep my properties in a good state of repair and cleanliness and to rent them at a very competative rate. All this ensures that I develop a friendly and helpful relationship with my tenants. In return I expect tenants to keep the house clean and to work with me to identify and overcome any problems. This includes rapidly informing me of any repairs needed to which I generally respond within 24 hrs. It is also my practice to return deposits in full unless I have incurred real and direct costs due to damage, cleaning costs, missed rent payments or similar issues. This has meant that most of my tenants have received their entire deposits back at the end of their tenancy.

Over the years I have met many wonderful people from all parts of the world. Since many of these have stayed with me for several years, I think this is evidence that I offer good value and good services as a landlord.
